So fortunate to have taken instruction from Donna. Lovely, knowledgeable and very talented. Donna paints with heart and soul.
Thank you for giving such a heartfelt and honest interview about the death and passing of Michael O'Toole. I've been searching for answers or at least more information about Michael's beautiful artwork and about the artist and came upon this radio interview, the year is now 2024. It is so unfortunate that he suffered from the after effects of his cancer and was alone in his fight with addiction. Yes there is family but he fought alone. I've worked as a nurse in my early years and later before retirement as an Art Therapist in Crisis Care Intervention at several hospital in the Oregon. There is more to fight and we should not fault him but wonder how many failed him along his addiction journey. It truly is a lack of education in seeing signs, but the responsibility does finally lay with Michael. I'm sorry for this lose of a wonderful man and his contribution to the art world.
🥰 My cat looks just like him. He is an abyssinian. He demands attention and cuddles too! Love my cat, he thaught me a lot. 🥰
Oh, beautiful work. No doubt. I just loved hearing his thoughts, particularly at the end. "You see something and go, I have to learn this, and you learn. I am not willing to NOT succeed at this." Makes me excited for my own artist journey.
real art, good
♥️
♥️
Oh my word just came across this on UA-cam for the first time ; it’s the kind of art and very much the landscape I love ; it’s a connection I feel with Scotland so beautifully said ; best wishes 🇬🇧👍 and beautiful work by the way .
Btw. Can you make a new episode with her?
Hi Annelie: I made this video when my wife Dennie owned the gallery. We both just retired and my future projects will explore other fields. Still, Laura is a fascinating person and artist; a new video about her would be really interesting for sure. Thanks for your comments and interest.
Happy retirement! 😊 I hope you find great fulfilment in your future projects. I'm sure your talents will be missed in the field. I loved the vibe, the sounds and the editing of this video aside of my appreciation for Laura's art. I wish both you and your wife happy years ahead.
Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
I have loved Lauras art for about a year now. It is really wonderful and amazing that her art really seems to tell a story about what she wants us to pay attention to and be a part of. Im sure its not uncommon, but she seems to be exactly who I felt I was "meeting" when I saw her art for the first time. ❤
Inhabiting the now is a practice that invites us to fully engage with the present moment, embracing its richness and potential. It encourages us to let go of the past and release our worries about the future, allowing us to cultivate a deeper sense of peace and fulfillment. When we inhabit the now, we become more attuned to the subtle details of our surroundings-the gentle sway of trees, the warmth of the sun on our skin, or the laughter shared with loved ones. We awaken to the beauty and preciousness of each passing moment, recognizing that life unfolds in the present and that true joy and meaning reside in our ability to be fully present. Inhabiting the now is an art of mindfulness, a conscious choice to tune into the present moment, to savor it, and to honor it with our undivided attention. It reminds us that the past is but a memory, the future a canvas yet to be painted, and that the truest gift we have is the now.
“Not good never makes it out of the studio”. Good line. Someday one of my paintings will make it out of the studio.
Always loved the vividness of David's work and the unapologetic warmth of even his distant planes!
